Description: A beautiful English Antique George II solid sterling silver baluster shaped cream jug, which is beautifully embossed with floral, scrolls and foliage motif decoration with an engraved armorial shield cartouche, lined with a gold gilt interior, fitted with a scroll shaped handle and stands on tripod feet. A lovely all original example from the King George II period with a splendid shaped body and weighs 101 grams of solid sterling silver.Itsof 277 years of age a splendid clean example which is ready to be added to your collection. A very fine clean example of outstanding quality.

Makers, Assay office & Date Hallmark: SM, London and 1748 (Probably)

Measurements: Height 10.8 cm including handle and width of body 6.5 cm

Condition report: Excellent clean condition for its 277 years of age with no major damage but does have some slight age related surface wear but nothing major just genuine antique wear which has to be expected with age and use. The interior is gilt lined which is in excellent clean condition with no marks or stains from use. The top rim is perfectly in shape and not pushed in. The scroll shaped handle is in excellent condition with no signs of repairs. The English solid sterling silver hallmarks to the underneath of the base are rubbed.A splendid Georgian example which isready to be added to your collection.
