Rota is one of the best trouser makers in the world.Founded in 1962 byAmpelio Rota, their goal is to put trousers at the forefront of a mans wardrobe, making trousers that stand out without needing a jacket. They are all made in their Fidenza factory, in the region of Parma in Italy, with a proven method used for more than 60 years with the Rota family still at the head.This method includes a mix of machine and handwork, and extra ironing steps to give shape to your trousers and make them stand out and durable for years to come.

Rota offers both ready-to-wear and made-to-measure trousers, in any kind of style you can imagine, from single-pleated to double-pleated, high-rise to mid-rise, simple belt to gurkha belt, slanted-pockets to western-pockets. You can also customise the lining, the buttons or even the colours of the seams.They only use the best fabrics (cashmere, heavy flannel, wide wale corduroy, light fresco, cavalry twill, whipcord, and many more) with a wide variety of colours and patterns.

They are also responsible for the making of trousers for other brands, such as Drakes, and are only available in the best menswears store in the world (Degand, Bardelli, the Armoury, No Man Walks Alone, Isetan, etc.).The quality of their cut and handwork under their own name is on par with Neapolitan bespoke trousermakers such as Ambrosi, Cerrato or Pommella, as well as the more well-known ready-to-wear brands like Cesare Attolini, Brioni and Kiton.

I propose agreat example of their work :beautifulkaki trousersin a heavy whipcord. Made inthe1990s for the Milanese store Bardelli, they are the perfect trousers for the mid-season and in the countryside. They can be worn either with a sportcoat (tweed, flannel, cotton) for a formal look, or with your favorite shirt and some nice brogue derbies or loafers for a more casual appearance. The trousers are high-rise with a straight cut.
