“The G2 is one of the most technically advanced mountaineering boots available, combining heat reflecting insulation, a tough Cordura fabric and a BOA lacing system for guaranteed comfort and support.

Developed in collaboration with Italian alpinist Simone Moro, the G2 (Gashebrum 2) is comprised of three layers, much like an insulated glove. The inner layer next to your foot is an insulating bootie which features a 6mm thick layer of PE and EVA foam to insulate you from freezing temperatures. This is reinforced with two layers of velcro and a thick Carbon insulated footbed to avoid heat loss through the bottom of the boot. Moving to the inner shell (the mid section of the boot), a technical 4-layer structure further increases warmth. This inner boot uses a synthetic leather (Lorica) to reinforce areas which are prone to wear. Lorica never dries out and is far easier to take care of compared with natural leather thanks to itscombination of thin microfibres throughout the fabric. Finally, the outer of the boot is much like the shell outer of your glove; it provides water resistance and protection against abrasion and snow. The outer is made entirely from Cordura, a super tough Nylon which dries quickly and is exceptionally abrasion resistant for itsweight.

Lacing a boot has never been more satisfying. La Sportivas G2 uses BOA lacing systems rather than traditional laces. BOA systems rid the boot of standard laces and replaces it with a wheel which pulls in a series of laces which lace right to the toe of the boot. Not only is this easier and far quicker, but also allows you to re-tighten the boots while wearing thick gloves. BOA laces are quicker, more precise and far easier with thick hand wear.

Keeping you planted is Vibrams Matterhorn sole with Impact Brake System lugs. A series of differently sized lugs dig into the ground while descending to give you confidence in almost all conditions.

For mountaineering around 6000/7000 metres, the G2 comes second to none. Warm, tough as nails and ready to be abused at altitude.
