The filter cleans approximately 1 litre of water per minute and removes bacteria, protozoa and other pathogens. The micro-organisms cannot pass the pores of the filter(0.2 micron) because of their size. The 0.2 micron filter element can be used up to approximately 55.000 litres. This is a massive amount when compared to other water filters. The included measuring gauge tells you when you need to replace the filter element.

The Pocket can be wrapped to a manageable size. It is not the smallest available filter, but, with the dimensions of 24 x 6 cm and a weight of only 550 grams it will easily slide into a backpack.

The Katadyn Carbon Cartridge is a light-weight water filter for clean drinking water. The filter fits on most drinking bottles enhanced with a wide opening. The filter comes with a bag of carbon to purify the water. You pour the carbon into the filter. Afterwards it is important you first flush water through the filter to remove any of the carbon left behind, before you start drinking. The filter reduces chemicals and improves the flavour and smell of filtered water. The filter has a capacity of approx. 200 litres. Afterwards you need to replace the carbon.
