JayStrongwaters love of the bejeweled object has led him on a beautifuljourney through the worlds of fashion and home furnishings. He beganhis career in 1981, while a student at the Rhode Island School ofDesign. Strongwaters taste for big, bold bijoux was seen on fashionrunways, magazine covers, and prominent jewelry counters across thecountry. By 1998, his Jewels for the Home supplanted his fashionbusiness. He was fascinated by the idea of taking our everydaybelongings and turning them into a beautiful collage of metal, enameland sparkling crystals. Collectors often say they feel the hand ofthe artisan behind each Jay Strongwater design. With the one missingteardrop shaped rhinestone, I have priced it accordingly. A jewelercould replace it for you. If a “like rhinestone” is notavailable, it may be easier to replace all 4. (There is a total of 4of these teardrop rhinestones, one of which is missing).
