DESCRIPTION
Bound without title page. Vol. I of two, from November 1867 to February 1868. A scarce work, only catalogued on Copac at the University of the Arts of London and the University of Cambridge Libraries, both single volumes. Complete sets have not been seen at auction in recent times.
Journal of art, literature, and decoration published by Zorn & Co. Featuring a miscellany of articles dedicated to the arts, as well as exhibition reviews, biographies, notes and studies of techniques.
This volume was bound without its title page. Featuring numerous lithographs in text, as well as thirty-one chromolithographs tipped in. Collated without a chromolithographic plate for Feb 1, 18 1st Illustration - Objects in Soapstone from India.
CONDITION
In full cloth binding. Externally with shelf wear, bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities, front joint starting, mark to rear board. Considerable damp and consequent cockling to boards. Previous ownership inscription to first leaf of text, undated. Internally, firmly bound. Minor spotting and offsetting to occasional leaf.
